About the Authors . . .

LINDA A. ALDERSON, a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a B.A. Hons. Economics, is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of accounting experience in a variety of roles on four continents. During that time she has worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail and service, and the Charities Sector. All these placements enabled the author to develop her skills of translating financial statistics and statements into meaningful information for the non-accountants of each organization. Most recently the author has assisted small business owners with organizing record-keeping processes complimentary to their accounting and other reporting obligations ensuring efficient work flows and ease of information retrieval. The expertise developed from both large scale organizations as well as small businesses has provided her with a unique opportunity to assist individuals to understand the record keeping responsibilities that come with looking after someone else's money either because they are an Attorney under a Power of Attorney or an Executor under a Will. Living in Oak Ridges, Ontario, the author takes an active role in advocating for the rights and benefits of seniors as well as enjoying local theatre, the harmonies of Barbershop and reading good old-fashioned "who done it" mysteries.
